Dear Executive Director:

November 1, 2017

Dear Executive Director:

Some facilities are less expensive on certain dates because a lot of organizations and companies recognize and respect these dates as Jewish holidays and don't book them. So you don't inadvertently plan a function, meeting, or conference call on one of these special days (and wonder why your attendance is down), read on ...
  • All Jewish holidays begin the evening before the date specified on most calendars because the day begins and ends at sunset, rather than at midnight.
  • Other faiths also observe Jewish holidays.
  • Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Passover are the holiest days for Jews.
    • The first two holy days are solemn; the last is a celebration.
    • For these three days, the night before is of special religious significance and custom.
