Stay Tuned Tech and Telecom Services Guide.
by Robert Serrat

In the Telecommunication market, there are a multitude of service providers. Whether they are ILEC’s and CLEC’s, Tier 1 or Tier 2, they all are constantly adapting to change. Expanding footprints, changing networks, building new facilities, merging companies, and testing new service products to name a few are happening  day-to-day. With an ever changing market It’s important to understand the extent of these changes and research where it positions them. Not all carriers are the same and not all carriers are a good fit. In this newsletter, my ultimate goal is to offer clients the same access I have in the carrier market and bring to light what is happening real time.  This will ensure that you don’t miss a beat before you consider making any changes
Happy Holidays!
I would like to take a moment to wish everyone a safe and Happy Holiday season.

I’m thankful for the opportunity to work with fantastic companies led by fantastic people every day and look forward to growing our businesses together.

Major Acquisitions Take Part Between High Level Service Providers
CenturyLink buys Level 3 Communications – and then sells its data centers
My thoughts : With the goal of becoming a telecom giant and to sit on the thrown next to Verizon, CenturyLink has achieved this goal through its acquisition. I’m excited about this and feel combining forces could in fact improve some areas they have lacked. More specifically, improvements made on the support level and fostering the ability to  provide type 1 services in most eastern regions. Both companies I believe complement each other very well. Windstream Merger with EarthLink
My thoughts : What does a failing company do when **** (poop) hits the fan? They merge with another failing company. Since the Paetec days, Windstream has successfully given “in my opinion” a bad taste in everyone’s mouth. Aside from pushing its clients who bill under $1,500 a month out in the streets (True Story), it now shows its major concern is building market share only. EarthLink has been a stagnant company with virtually no “stand out” enhancements under their portfolio. This seems all too desperate if you ask me. Click link to view Press Release
Carrier Updates and New Services
  What's new! What's happening!

Well, here you go. Here you will find some of the latest updates and developments the carriers have shared.

Lightower Network Expansion in North Carolina

My thoughts: This nitch fiber based Ethernet service provider increases their network footprint almost every day by lighting buildings with fiber all over the east coast as well as parts of Chicago. Now they expanded into the North Carolina bringing their portfolio of markets even more competitive.  Lightower where available is a company I will always recommend. Windstream Expands Fixed Wireless Technology in 40 Markets

My thoughts: Though I’m not the biggest Windstream fan I will admit, this is pretty cool. Not many carriers can say they can provide fixed wireless solutions across multiple states. Fixed wireless is becoming a huge asset for businesses as its providing the same SLA’s as Ethernet Over Fiber (EOF) and at a much lower rate. Click link to view Press Release.

Level 3 Brings Managed Security Solutions to The Table

My Thoughts: Data security and threat protection is a service most businesses overlook until it’s too late. If you are already a Level 3 customer, this may be worth considering since you can now consolidate billing. Level 3 with its new acquisition with CenturyLink are on the uprising of becoming a new sheriff in the cloud compute and security market. Click link to view Press Release.
