At the time of writing these lines WAOW was arriving in the port of Ambon, after 11 days of navigation across the
Banda Sea. Once again the marine "oasis" of this itinerary has offered a spectacle well beyond the level of our already high expectations : schools of hammerheads, jacks, barracudas and beautiful reefs. Amazing action at the meeting point. We also came across two blue whales at the surface, as majestic as they are rare. Actually, it is estimated that there are only between 10'000-25'000 specimens remaining in our global oceans.

from 23 December 2017 to 03 January 2018.

Fishing forbidden
A recent experience has obliged us to remind you that fishing, angling or spearfishing is strictly forbidden on WAOW. This is applicable both within, and outside the National Park areas. WAOW is a vessel dedicated to scuba diving and we would prefer to see the fish life evolve in open seas rather than hanging from the end of a fishing line.
Thank you for your kind understanding.

Cenderawasih Bay
Whale Shark Festival
In 2018 there will only be 2 cruises scheduled for an exploration of
Cenderawasih Bay :
From 21 to 31 January and then 03 to 13 February.
Found to the north of Raja Ampat, this large bay is partially classified as a National Park and is a nursery for more than 1800 known marine species, many of which are endemic. From Manokwari to Biak, our itinerary of 10 nights allows you to discover the best sites of the bay, starting with the Japanese wrecks from WWII, there are also drop-offs frequented by pelagics and with preserved seascapes. The highlight undoubtably remains the concentration of whale sharks around the "bagans" (floating fishing platforms specially designed to catch a type of anchovy adored by the Indonesians). You will be able to immerse yourself with the whale sharks for an observation rarely possible.
Don't miss out also on the land excursion to see the famous "Bird of Paradise" accompanied by local guides.
A voyage where time stops and the nature is sublime. A return to the source.
