Rotary Clubs can Win with WinS
WASH in Schools, known as WinS, is an opportunity to partner with a Club in another country, leverage your $$, and the change the lives of young people, particularly girl students.

WASRAG is partnering with District 9140, Procter & Gamble, H2O for Life, and the implementing partner the Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) to improve access to water, toilets, hand washing and menstrual hygiene management in 30 schools in the Niger Delta.

Host clubs in Nigeria have been established, needs assessments, planning and budgets have already been prepared. All that is needed is Rotary Clubs to sign-up to be involved, it cannot be much easier for a club to have a major international impact.  (Read more . . .)

World Water Day - March 22 -
Plan Now!
Getting your club to clean up a local river is just one of many excellent ideas for a Service Project for World Water Day, March 22, 2017.

In October, The Rotary Club of South Ukiah with assistance from clubs in District 5130, traveled to Mexico to District 4140 to have a Hands On River Clean Up day of the Ameca River.

River or stream clean-up projects require little money, are a lot of fun, and provide something Rotarians enjoy "Sweat Charity".

Each day over 4,900 people, mostly children under the age of five, die from waterborne diseases. The need for clean water and adequate sanitation in Ecuador, a country of 14 million people, is staggering, where the vast majority of the population do not have access to potable water.

Carol and Ron Cousineau, took a Biosand Filter Workshop from the A Vision for Clean Water (AVFCW) organization and learned how these filters could provide clean water to hundreds of families in Ecudaor.

More Toilets Needed Next Year!
Now is the time to start planning for World Toilet Day 2017, which will be on Sunday, November 19.

The UN has declared November 19 as World Toilet Day, so you can plan years in advance, but do not plan events past 2030, because by then the goal is to have toilets available for everyone!

Learn what Rotary groups are doing around the planet to provide clean water.

The Water and Sanitation Rotarian Action Group (WASRAG) is pleased to consider partnerships with any corporate supporter. Due to the unique attributes of water sources and water provision, acceptance of corporate support does not imply an endorsement of any particular water technology. Rotarians, Rotary clubs, and Rotary partners must evaluate any technology to determine if it is the best solution for the conditions where the program will be implemented. WASRAG can provide guidance about where different technologies work best, but Rotarians and Rotary clubs must make the final decision about how to implement their programs.
