Holidays are best at the beach

Celebrate a coastal Christmas this holiday season. Peninsula holiday events are wonderfully representative of our seaside communities. Crab Pot Christmas Trees and Bed & Break Holiday Open House tours are all part of the fun. Be sure to stock up on holiday gifts from Pacific County artists and retailers. The LBP is storm-watching central

From exploding waves at Waikiki Beach to rolling fog banks on Willapa Bay, Pacific County offers a plethora of storm-watching options for foul-weather fans. This time of year is especially exciting for photographers -- just look at the photo to the left! 

The Windless Kite Festival is Jan. 21-22, and the Asian New Year Kite Celebration is Jan. 27 - Feb. 7.
Kite events take flight in January

The   Windless Kite Festival, set for Jan. 21-22 in Long Beach, is the longest-running indoor kiting event in North America. The event features kiting performances and competitions, as well as open flying sessions and a kite-making workshop. The annual Asian New Year Kite Celebration is Jan. 27 - Feb. 7 and features kite displays from 10 Asian nations, Mahjong demos and tasty bites.
