KCC Annual Assembly Delegate Report- Rev. Mike Ward
If the moral arc of the universe is to bend toward justice, we will have to do the bending ... Thus Miguel de la Torre revised a famous quote in his presentation to delegates at the recent (Oct 19-20) Annual Assembly of the Kentucky Council of Churches.

This year ' s Assembly theme was " Unpacking Power and Privilege. "   Through presentations, workshops and worship, participants were challenged to acknowledge the presence and effects of systemic privilege in society, and inspired to work toward justice in both personal and public life.  For many of us, that work begins with " listening " to our neighbors, and through listening to learn the very different lives that people experience simply because of the color of their skin or the place of their birth.  Having heard the wisdom arising from such experience, we can then join together with neighbors in the work of bending the arc toward justice.

Watch for Assembly delegate reports in the November Presbytery meeting packet.
November 11 Elder Training Cancelled
The Elder training event scheduled for November 11th as been cancelled due to low registration.  Please stay tuned for another date that we hope will better accommodate the needs of our Elders.
APCE Registration
It is time to register for the Annual Event for the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators.  Registration is on-line at  http://www.apcenet.org/.  Early bird registration ends December 8, but popular workshops fill up quickly, so don't wait!

This event is in our APCE Region (Mid-South) and we have some scholarship funds available.  Our region's president, Doodle Harris, can be contacted about financial assistance.

There are great workshops for all who engage in education, youth ministry, planning worship and more.  The theme is Deep & Wide - Boundless Hospitality, and this will be part of every workshop. People interested in curriculum have an opportunity to attend POINT training (each Presbytery can send two) to learn about new curriculum, and in particular our new Confirmation materials coming out in 2018. And there is much much more!
