Young Entrepreneurs Academy Now Accepting Applications

High school students can now apply to attend the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Young Entrepreneur Academy (YEA!) class.

YEA! is a weekly program throughout the academic year that guides students through launching and running their own businesses or social movements.

YEA! is open to all students in grades 9-12. While in the Academy, students will receive all the necessary tools to launch real, legal businesses. This includes access to experts such as attorneys, accountants, business mentors and graphic designers. Students will also have an audience with investors for start-up funding, and the opportunity to compete for college scholarships.   Applications can be submitted online by September 15th.
PICS OF THE WEEK

5 Tips to Keep your Dorm Room Organized
Heading off to college is exciting, not just because of the opportunity to further your education, building up student debt, and waking up bright and early for those 8 a.m. classes, but because for many living in a dorm offers a chance at a new level of independence.

Stop & Stor’s Director of Administration Denise Henick, a mom of a college student herself, offers some suggestions. Many start decorating their dorm room in their minds from the moment they receive their acceptance letter. By the time they step on campus, they have a ton of dorm room ideas. Unfortunately, dorm rooms are far from spacious, and many students are forced to make some choices regarding what to put on their list of dorm room essentials. One of the keys to getting the most out of the limited space in a dorm room is to stay organized.
