Principal's Message
October 13, 2017
Dear Families and Friends of OLQP:
For some, Hurricane Harvey is still an everyday reality whose presence is felt in the form of insurance claims, FEMA lines, contractors, friends, and volunteers. For others, the event is beginning to feel like past history. Thankfully, at OLQP, the physical plant was not harmed other than in the most minor way. It is a great blessing, and the result of God's merciful response to many prayers and fasting. However, the school has sustained undeniable financial impact. The Fall Festival is the school's most important fundraiser. This infusion of revenue offsets the cost of the mortgage and discounted tuition that all families receive (because no one pays "true cost" tuition). Because of the distress of so many in our community, the festival has been postponed. Please save the new date in order to make the OLQP Family Weekend a great success. The event will include:
  • Friday, February 2, grandparents are invited to join students for lunch and view a silent auction of student artwork.
  • Saturday, February 3, is the Mardi Gala, which is an adult event with dinner, dancing, and live auction. If you have never attended, make this the year to begin. Good food, good music, and past, present, and future friends of OLQP will be there to support the school.
  • Sunday, February 4, is Family Festival Day, which will be the usual day of fellowship, activities for the children, raffle, live and silent auctions including class projects, and Brian's BBQ.
Please plan to join us for this very important event in the life of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School! Thank you for being part of the mission and ministry of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School.

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam,
Mrs. Marianne Mechura, M.Ed.
