What is the Foundation Level Seminar Series, anyway?

Like pyramids, organizations are only as strong as their foundational level. That foundation determines the size of the pyramid, if the pyramid stays straight, and to how high the pyramid can grow. In 2016, OACAA launched a seminar series for entry level and new employees. By offering a series of seminars such as these, we believe agencies can build the capacity of a segment of our network who do not always have opportunities to attend our, or others, mainstream conferences and events. The Foundation Level Seminar Series, or FLSS trainings, will not only focus on ways to help staff better support the Community Action mission but also help each person give the best of themselves...    Read more

John "Tim" Donnellan retires after 39 years of service
After 39 years of service, John "Tim" Donnellan retired from Community Action Partnership of the Greater Dayton Area on August 1, 2017, where he served as President and CEO since 1978. Prior to joining the War on Poverty, Donnellan served on active duty in the US Army for four years, one year of which was with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam, which included the TET Offensive. ..   Read more

SUMMIT COUNTY -
August 9, 2017- Akron, OH-Akron Summit Community Action, Inc. (ASCA) is purchasing a building in Barberton Ohio to serve 233 Head Start children in the Barberton area.

Community Action and Mutual Self-Help rehabilitation in Fayette County

On June 21, Jodi Noel opened her Washington C.H. home in commemoration of National Homeownership Month and the successful (near!) completion of her Mutual Self-Help rehabilitation and renovation.
