At our Thanksgiving Liturgy tomorrow morning we will sing our traditional Notre Dame song which includes the following words:

Give thanks with a grateful heart, give thanks to the Holy One, give thanks because God's given Jesus Christ the Son. And now let the weak say I am strong, let the poor say I am rich because of what the Lord has done for us. Give thanks.

We have much to be grateful for here at Notre Dame School including our wonderful student body and faculty, crowded pool of potential applicants at Open House, and Championship ND Soccer and Volleyball Teams to name a few. Most especially, we have Anne de Xainctonge's Values such as perseverance, hope and trust that give us the courage to face each new day in our city where many are feeling especially vulnerable.

Let us keep alive the hope to which God calls us. We are confident that since God has given us God's own Son, we can be sure of God's unconditional love. We are richly blessed indeed.

Please know that all of you will be remembered with gratitude in our prayers this Thanksgiving season.

Warm regards,

Dr. Virginia O'Brien, S.U.
Over 440 Prospective Students Attend Open House

On Sunday, October 30 over 440 prospective students  from New  York's five boroughs, New Jersey and beyond arrived at our 13th Street campus for Notre Dame's annual admissions Open House. The line of eager students and their parents stretched well around the corner onto 8th Avenue until Mr. Robert Grote, Director of Admissions, opened  the doors and welcomed the crowd Chez Nous.

The afternoon provided girls  in  the 6th, 7th and 8th grade with a glimpse into life at Notre Dame complete with guided tours from current students; presentations from President Dr. Virginia O'Brien, S.U. and Principal Jackie Brilliant; and an opportunity for prospective parents and students alike to ask current ND parents questions about their experience  Chez Nous  in the ND Commons.

Volleyball & Soccer Capture Win Championships

The fall sports season Chez Nous resulted in City Championships for both the ND volleyball and soccer teams!

The volleyball team finished a perfect season (14-0) by defeating St. Saviour for the GCHSAA Varsity B City Championship. The team's perfect season extended past the win-loss column as ND won each game they played in straight sets. Congratulations to the team and to Coach Robert Vecchio P'18 for all of your hard work and dedication!

Like the volleyball team, the ND soccer team capped off their regular season by winning the GCHSAA/PSAL City Championship. In the Championship match Corrin Motyka '19 scored Notre Dame's three goals as the team went on to defeat Fontbonne Hall Academy 3-2. Congratulations to the team and to Coach James Fowler P'12, '14 on their second consecutive championship!
Global Awareness Dinner raises over $2,500

The Notre Dame tradition of encouraging and empowering equal opportunities for girls and women around the world was alive and well at the annual Global Awareness Dinner. Members of Anne's Leaders, ND's student mission group, hosted the dinner on Thursday, November 10 in support of the Sisters of St. Ursula's mission work in the Democratic Republic of the Congo which is centered on the education of girls in the historically war-torn country. Hundreds of parents, students, alumnae and friends gathered together for a delicious pasta dinner, dessert, dancing and raffles all in support of the DR Congo.  Thank you to all those who attended and contributed to this important cause!
