Dr. Anne Koch
As a teen growing up in Long Island in the 1960s, Ken Koch was the youngest starting quarterback at his high school. Otherwise, he didn't seem much different than most boys in town. But his self-image, which he kept hidden from public view, was another story. He identified as a girl. "From the age of 5, I was aware of the trans thing,'' said Koch. "Something was not quite right.'' Today, Koch is a transgender endodontist who renamed herself Anne. Last month, she spoke at RSDM in her campaign to raise awareness of an alarming lack of skilled care for transgender patients.  LEARN MORE

RSDM Team Helps Car Crash Victim Begin New Life

After a disfiguring car accident on the Garden State Parkway, Adam Ryden was left with facial lacerations, several shattered teeth, a split lip and pulverized jaw bone. But thanks to two years of team work by RSDM specialists -- and several airplane flights from Indiana to Jersey  -- Ryden's scars are healed. His jaw has been rebuilt and his missing teeth have been replaced with implants, all in time for his wedding earlier this year.  LEARN MORE

Student Leader Receives Award

Fourth-year student Chelsea Rajagopalan was given an award from the Carmine LoMonaco Student Leadership Fund, which helps offset the costs of travel and professional development for local and national student leaders  Dr. LoMonaco is a faculty member and RSDM Class of '64 alumnus. Rajagopalan is chair of the American Student Dental Association's Council on Professional Issues and holds other ASDA positions as well.

Halloween at RSDM

Birthday Party
RSDM To Celebrate 60th at Event

RSDM turned 60 this year, and to mark the occasion, faculty, staff and alums are invited to "Celebrating 60 Years" on December 15 at Mayfair Farms in West Orange from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The cost is $40 per person for a night of dinner, dancing and valet parking. Attire is "business festive.'' The event is presented by Dean Cecile A. Feldman in partnership with the RSDM Alumni Association. Stay tuned for more information on tickets and registration.
