Girls on the Run -
DC's 10th Anniversary Fall 5K

The Girls on the Run - DC 5K would not be possible without the help of amazing volunteers who believe in our mission and show up to support our girls. Whatever your special skills and talents, we have a role for everyone. Sign up as a 5K Volunteer and help set-up and oversee one of our 5K areas, such as Race Packet Pick-Up or On-Course Safety Marshals. You can also sign up to be a Buddy Runner and run the 5K with a GOTR-DC participant who does not have a family member or teacher to run with. If you would like to run the race on your own, you can sign up as a Community Runner. Buddy Runners and Community Runners pay the 5K registration fee and Buddy Runners must complete a GOTR-DC background check.

More information and the registration link can be found on our website: http://www.gotrdc.org/5K

Girls on the Run - DC, a local non-profit, offers a proven character development after-school program to equip pre-teen girls (grades 3-8) in all eight wards of Washington, DC with skills to develop confidence and form habits that prepare them for a lifetime of healthy living. ( www.gotrdc.org)

GOTR-DC was founded in 2006 in one school in DC and now operates in 147 sites across all 8 wards of the District. GOTR-DC offers two 10-week sessions during the school year (fall and spring). In 2015, we served 2,050 pre-teen girls distributed across 167 teams at sites across DC.

GOTR-DC is committed to providing all girls access to the program in DC and currently provide ~65% of girls with financial aid in order to participate in the program each season. We also work with over 1,300 volunteers a year to empower young girls in the District. Volunteer or get involved with us to give girls confidence at www.gotrdc.org.
