Spread Awareness About #ConstructionWeek17!
 
As Construction Week is only two weeks away, we encourage everyone to ramp up their social media marketing to promote and showcase our industry. To help you spread the word about Construction Week, we have created multiple social media resources that are available for download:

Social media is a great way to gain maximum exposure leading up to, and during Construction Week. By using these resources, along with the #ConstructionWeek17 hashtag, you can help raise awareness of the many rewarding opportunities available in the construction industry!

Reminder - Submit Your Exceptional Field Workers
Plan a Company-Wide Celebration
The success of an awareness campaign is dependent on the number of people who the message reaches. What better way to spread the word about Construction Week than by contacting your local news outlets?  
 
Consider promoting community awareness of Construction Week by:  
  • Submitting press releases about Construction Week to local media
  • Submitting Construction Week for inclusion on local events listings
  • Contacting a local TV show to request to talk about Construction Week
To help you with this process, we have created sample articles and press releases that you can use as is, or pull text from to create your own! These samples are available HERE for download.  
Don't forget to send us your Exceptional Field Workers to be highlighted during Construction Week!  We are asking our members to submit your exceptional field staff so that we can recognize them on our social media accounts and other communications pieces throughout the week.
 
Simply submit their name, position, number of years in the industry and their photo to Aly Schmidt using the Exceptional Field Worker to be Highlighted Form. Please limit your submissions to 5 individuals.  (Submissions will only be accepted from MBI member firms.)

One important aspect of Construction Week is recognizing the individuals who make our industry great. We encourage you to take this opportunity to celebrate your company, your employees and your colleagues in the industry during Construction Week. Some examples of how you can show your appreciation include:
  • Hold a celebration meal in your office and/or on a job site
  • Host company-wide training
  • Have a team outing
  • Distribute employee appreciation gifts or job site gift baskets

Social media has taken over our daily lives whether you want to admit it or not, so if you are passionate about this industry, share information about opportunities in construction frequently.  This will lead to your 'friends' and 'followers' being exposed to the opportunities in construction more frequently, which can only help the greater cause of educating our communities about the options for students after high school graduation that don't have to involve a four year degree in order to have a high-paying and rewarding career.
