Lighten Your Load.

Welcome back to another BobBlast!

Traveling and sketching on location is easier with less art supplies. No need to always haul heavy paint boxes, easels and backpacks. For me, I've narrowed down the supplies to two things - one watercolor pad and one black sketching pen.

My watercolor pad of choice is Fabriano Studio Watercolor Pad, 9x12 inches, Hot Press (satin smooth finish) 140 lb. With fifty sheets per pad, this smooth Italian paper stays flat, especially when I paint light washes.

For color washes, I carry along a few Derwent Inktense Watercolor Pencils. The colors are permanent when dried.

For my drawing and sketching pens, I have two choices - Faber Castell
Pitt Artist Pen, waterproof Indian ink with three nib sizes to choose from.
My other favorite pen is the Pilot Precise V5 Premium Rolling Ball Pen. Both pens feature precise, clean and smooth lines.

I have discovered, with less art supplies to lug around, I spend more time creating. That's the whole idea, isn't it?
