Message from the CEO: We all have a role to play

HISA is pleased to be supporting Mental Health Week (9-15 October), raising awareness of the role digital health has to play in improving patient treatment and outcomes.  As you know, there is tremendous potential for health-tech in this field and hundreds of online solutions already in the mix. However, there are many issues - privacy, security and the best use of patient data - to be taken into consideration if we are to get this right.
As a HISA member and an individual, you have an important role to play in sharing your expertise with the whole healthcare community and particularly a field as sensitive as mental health.  As an organisation, our goal is a commitment to health workforce development which will ensure all mental health care professionals are informed, aware and well-equipped to use digital health tools, programs and applications for the benefit of the Australian community.

HISA is inviting members to form a new special interest group which will build a network of people who understand UX - what it is and what it isn't.  HISA member Associate Professor Chris Bain, a leader in the area says: "We'd all be in a much better place if systems were more usable and clinicians had a positive experience." Get involved in HISA's UX Network - tell us about yourself with this  Expression of Interest.
