At the Lawyers Alliance Gala

A Busy Beginning This Fall

While summer months often seem slower, this summer and early autumn have been full of new initiatives, new clients, and some very gratifying recognition for BCNA.

We were particularly pleased to be honored for our work by one of our close partners, the Lawyers Alliance for New York. By generously recognizing us, they demonstrate their commitment to providing quality and pro-bono legal service to support economic justice.

We are also very pleased to announce that the CDFI Fund has approved BCNA for an award of $700,000. This will allow us to increase access to credit to many more New Yorkers.

From co-sponsoring  Beyond Momos: Himalayan Food in Jackson Heights with MOFAD, to meeting with the New York State CDFI Coalition; hosting a Social Media workshop for a delegation from the Tibetan Chamber of Commerce ; supporting the Park Hill African Market on Staten Island; and holding several successful HomeFirst Down Payment Assistance Program Workshops, it's been a busy few months helping New Americans in the five boroughs on their way to financial security and success.

Finally, we are excited to share that we are starting the new fiscal year with several new staff members who will bring additional talent and energy to helping us fulfill our mission.

Here's to a productive and entrepreneurial fall!
