Fund Established to Help Media Professionals Weather the Storm

A Hurricane Relief Fund has been established to provide financial support for film and television professionals who have been affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

Separated by mere days, the colossal storms ripped through the south, racking up north of $200 billion in damages, and leaving hundreds of thousands of people from Texas to Florida without homes. 

The SAG-AFTRA Foundation reportedly donated $200,000 to the fund, with SAG-AFTRA Motion Picture Players Welfare Fund matching the contribution. The Actors Fund has partnered with the foundations to provide social services and facilitate the approvals process. 

Total initial assistance tallied $400,000. The SAG-AFTRA foundation is currently accepting donations.
