New Board Leaders & Board Members
Illinois Prairie Community Foundation board of directors has elected new leaders and new members.

Tim Leighton
Tim Leighton, attorney and certified financial planner with Leighton Legal Group of Bloomington, is the new president and Jerome Maddox, Corporate Human Resources-Enterprise Philanthropy at State Farm, is vice president. Each term is for 2 years; Leighton and Maddox began in their new roles on July 1.

Also elected to the board were Sandy McGhee, retired University of Illinois Educator with the McLean County Extension, and Dr. Terry England, dentist and associate at Clinton Family Dental. Read More
Nominations for Philanthropist of Year
Know of someone who gives back to the community? Nominate them by July 31 for this year's  Philanthropist of the Year award.

The award is open to a n individual, couple or family who lives in  McLean, DeWitt, Livingston or Logan counties. View additional criteria for the award.

The winner(s) will be honored at the 2017 Celebrating Local Philanthropy Luncheon on Nov. 15 at the Marriott of Bloomington-Normal.  Click here for 2017 nomination form.
New Mentors for YEP
EllaKate LeFebre          Bobby Castillo
As Youth Engaged in Philanthropy (YEP) starts a new program year with a record-setting number of members, it also has new leadership.

EllaKate LeFebre and Bobby Castillo have agreed to be YEP Mentors for the 2017-18 year along with founding mentor Sandy McGhee.  Read More
Women to Women Summer Celebration
Women to Women Giving Circle's Summer Celebration on June 27 gathered together women who are interested in creating a strong, safe community for women and children. The attendees heard updates from six grant recipients and had the opportunity to share their vision for the future of women and girls in Central Illinois. View photos from the Summer Celebration.

develop a roadmap for funding important community initiatives.
YEP Members Start New Year By Volunteering
While many high school students spend their summers enjoying the pool, playing sports, or hanging out with friends, the young philanthropists of the Illinois Prairie Community Foundation's Youth Engaged in Philanthropy (YEP) started their summer by volunteering at the West Bloomington Active Garden (WBAG), which was a grant recipient of the 2016-2017  YEP program year. The YEP members decided to have their first meeting of the 2017-2018 program year by volunteering at this local nonprofit and introducing the new members to an example of YEP's philanthropic giving. Michigan Conference a Learning Experience
Ana iah Simmons, a IPCF Youth Engaged in Philanthropy (YEP) member, attended the Youth Grantmakers Summer Leadership Conference in Michigan in June.
