LakeWatch Wins Emerald Award |
It was wonderful to be recognized for almost 20 years of commitment to our community-based water-monitoring program at a gala Awards Ceremony on June 5. The Emerald Foundation created a great video explaining the issue and provided opportunity for all of our volunteers to get recognition through the Calgary Herald and Edmonton Journal newspaper article.
Thank you to all the people who donate their time and their boat to take us out on the water. Thank you to Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development, the Lakeland Industry and Community Association, Beaver River Watershed Alliance, Environment Canada and individual stewardship groups and municipalities who fund this work. |
Workshop Registration is Open |

Environmental Farm Plan |
The Alberta Environmental Farm Plan's (EFP) new website at www.albertaefp.com is live and mobile friendly. "The website features farmer stories, articles, videos and twitter feed," says Ashley Steeple, EFP communication's manager, Agricultural Research and Extension Council of Alberta (ARECA). "The new site makes it easier to find an EFP technician in your area and get started on completing an EFP."
The Environmental Farm Plan (EFP) process helps producers identify and address environmental risks and opportunities in their operation by completing an EFP workbook. "Maintaining a healthy environment is essential to the success of Alberta's agricultural producers and an EFP shows a commitment to stewardship," says Steeple.
A web version of the EFP Workbook will be released later this spring.
For more information on the Alberta Environmental Farm Plan call 310-FARM (3276), email [email protected] or go to the new website at www.albertaefp.com. |
