From Mr. Robinson

Dear Families:

Thank you to the many fathers and other male role models who participated in yesterday’s Fathers’ Walk! It was great to see so many men bringing our students to school, and the children with whom I spoke truly enjoyed having the attention of the men in their lives and appreciated their presence.

Below is a link to the District’s Measuring What Matters document that was mailed to all Shaker homes this week.  If you haven't yet had an opportunity to read the document, please take a moment and review it at your leisure.  It celebrates many of the positives our students experience on a daily basis.

Looking ahead to next week, our Kindergarten Curriculum Night is scheduled for Wednesday, September 28, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The evening provides our kindergarten parents and guardians with an opportunity to meet with the kindergarten teachers and learn about the kindergarten curriculum. While the evening is designed for adults, free child care will be provided in the library. I look forward to seeing all of our many kindergarten families there!

Finally, dogs are welcome at Boulevard during arrival and dismissal; however, I ask that parents please keep their dogs leashed and away from children entering and exiting the building, as some children are less comfortable with dogs. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter

Sincerely,

Neal Robinson
Principal

Library Night at Shaker Main Library

Are you an international family new to the Shaker Heights community? Would you like resources to build your and/or your child’s English literacy? If you said yes to these questions, then you are invited to join Mrs. Jill Lasheen and Mrs. Angela Bailey for Library Night at Shaker Heights Main Library at  16500 Van Aken Blvd, Shaker Heights, OH 44120 on Tuesday, September 27th starting at 6:30PM.

Library staff will guide us to tour the many wonderful resources available at the library, including the children’s book section, multilingual books, and internet-connected computer lab. Staff will  assist you in getting a library card to check out materials for yourself and/or your children. To get your own library card, you will need to bring with you TWO of the following: a utility bill such as electricity bill from First Energy (which shows your current address); identification (ID) with your current address. We hope to see you there! Please email Jill Lasheen with questions.

Each week the Boulevard PTO publishes the Boulevard Friday Flyer highlighting school events for our families. If you have items to contribute to the flyer, please submit to boulevardfridayflyer@yahoo.com by 12:00pm on Wednesdays.
