Dear Boulevard Families,
As three evening events capped our sixth week of learning, I commend you for your
ongoing engagement with and support of our schools. In this busy and fast-paced
world, I find it a true testament of your commitment that many of you came out on
multiple nights.
First, on Tuesday, more than 30 of you attended our premiere Library Night at the
Shaker Heights Main Library. The event proved to be a huge success, as staff toured
families through the many available resources, including evening ESL classes, and
assisted them in getting library cards to access those resources. My sincere
appreciation to Mrs. Jill Lasheen and Mrs. Angela Bailey for organizing and
facilitating this wonderful event!
Thank you also to the many families who were able to participate in Wednesday’s
Kindergarten Curriculum Night! The evening allowed parents the opportunity to get
into their kindergartner’s classroom, spend time with the teacher, learn about the
curriculum and see first hand the kinds of fun and engaging activities that promote
the Shaker Experience for some of our youngest learners. I would also like to
express my appreciation to Boulevard’s Special K Team - Ms. Angela Anderson, Mrs.
Denice Benton, Mrs. Teri Cone, Mrs. Kelly Kunchik, Mrs. Elizabeth Shaw and Ms.
Christine Varricchio - for their hard work in preparing for this educational evening!
And, finally, thank you to the families and staff who were able to attend Thursday’s
informative Master Plan Community Meeting at the Middle School. Participants
were able to learn more about and discuss the plan to replace the Middle School and
provide needed capital improvement projects to the other seven buildings, including
Boulevard.
In closing, please remember there will be no school on Monday, October 3 in honor
of our many families who celebrate the Jewish New Year. For those who do observe
it, Happy Rosh Hashanah!
Sincerely,
Neal Robinson
