"God's work. Our Hands." Sunday is a dedicated day of service in the ELCA. Service activities offer an opportunity for us to explore one of our most basic convictions as Lutherans: that all of life in Jesus Christ - every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner of life - flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God's grace. Many congregations engaged ins service on September 11 this year, but others chose another day - and perform their service all year round.

On September 10,  Hill Avenue Grace, Pasadena filled 200 "Blessing Bags" with socks, water, gift certificates to McDonald's, personal hygiene kits, etc. The church gives these out to the homeless they encounter in Pasadena.

Holy Trinity, Thousand Oaks  held their Day of Service on Saturday, August 27. They  cleaned  up the Park Oaks Tutoring Center and Conejo Creek, and picked up litter in their church neighborhood.

The  quilters  of St. Timothy, Lakewood have been busy all year! On their Day of Service, 66 quilts were boxed up and sent to Lutheran World Relief and various charities.
