Thanks to our volunteers
On Sept 10th, Golf Saskatchewan held our Volunteer, Sponsor, and Media Appreciation Golf Day at the
Dakota Dunes Golf Links.  The event was well attended and it was a wonderful afternoon for golf, laughs and fellowship.   

The event thanks our volunteers, business and media partners who assist us in servicing the game of golf in Saskatchewan.  We will see you all again on the links in 2017.

Long Term and Exemplary Volunteer Service Awards
At the dinner, Golf Saskatchewan formally recognized two of our long term volunteers for their dedication to the game of golf.  Even though they were not present to receive their awards, those in attendance showed their appreciation to the two individuals.     

Shirley Krone, of Nipawin was recognized for her 20 years of service focusing mainly in the area of Course Rating and as a Board  

Moe Martin, of Regina was recognized for his 10 years of service in multiple areas including as a President, Past President, serving as multiple committee chair-person for Programs & Member Services, Rules, Championships, Handicapping and also for being a Course Rater and Rules Official.  Moe was also a major driving force behind the Golf Saskatchewan Strategic Planning process and the move to a governance/policy board. 

On behalf of Golf Saskatchewan, the member clubs and individuals members, thank you to the both of you for your selfless commitment to golf in Saskatchewan.

Shirley Krone was presented the Long Term and Exemplary Volunteer Service Award at the Evergreen GC, Nipawin by Golf SK Director, Kevin Duchscherer.

90th Junior Men's Championship (U19)
In our last issue of ON PAR we missed announcing the Junior Men's team.

Kade Johnson was the Gold medal winner of the under 19 Junior Men's Championship held on Wednesday July 20th. Kade was joined by Roman Timmerman (Silver) and Carson Harcourt (Bronze) to compete at nationals.  In total, six Saskatchewan Junior Men  competed in St. John's, Newfoundland accompanied by Golf SK Coach Jason Schneider.

    Ziglo and Larocque are Champs once again
    North Battleford, SK.  In the 18th playing of the Mixed Team Championship at the North Battleford GCC, the 2016 Champions are Kathy Ziglo and Ian Larocque.   

    The duo returned to their winning ways however it required a one hole playoff victory over Kimberly Brown and Dennis Vezeau.  Kim and Dennis fired the round of the tournament with a score of 68 (-4) and moved into a tie after 36 holes.
