Principal's Message
September 30, 2016
Dear Families and Friends of OLQP:

Have you noticed the welcome touch of fall in the air? It is that time of year again with so many things to enjoy: football games, tailgate parties, cooler weather, and festivals. The best festival of all is the OLQP Fall Festival. Students are working with classroom parents, volunteers, and teachers to create AMAZING projects for the live auction. Ms. Wilson and her team of volunteers are curating a wonderful collection of items for both the live and silent auctions. Many friends of OLQP have sent in donations of sponsorship and items as well. Students and families are selling raffle tickets around town and to friends and neighbors. Some people are still deciding what to bring to the sweets booth and how many BBQ dinners they need to buy.
Over the years, the "look" of the festival has changed. What has not changed is the purpose - to keep Catholic education affordable for those families who desire it. Tuition does not reflect the true cost of educating a child at OLQP. Every family receives a tuition discount.
So, things are lining up for a successful Fall Festival. All we need is you ! Please come, bring your friends and family, do some Christmas, birthday, and anniversary shopping, and help OLQP make this the best festival in OLQP history.  It is a great way to honor the 30 th

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam,
Mrs. Marianne Mechura, M.Ed.

THANK YOU!
Did you Know?
We have a great bus. It is ready to roll. There is just one challenge! Most of the drivers we know also drive for other schools. Travelling sports teams need a driver in the afternoon which is a conflict with the drivers we rely on for field trips. If you know anyone who is interested in helping OLQP, please let us know. The athletic teams will be most grateful! Thank you !

Did you notice the pinwheels topping the front fence and scattered around the OLQP campus? Students participated in "Pinwheels for Peace." Their created pinwheels were "planted" around the campus on the International Day of Peace. Over four million others join OLQP students in planting pinwheels all over the world with prayers and hope for peace.

On the First Friday of the month, OLQP will have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the chapel following Mass. Please join us.
News you can Use....
It is time again to participate in Private School Interscholastic Association (PSIA). This program is open to students in first through eighth grade. It is an enrichment program that prepares students for regional academic competition. Those who qualify can go on to state competition. A hand-out was sent home with students to review with you. If you would like for your child to participate, check off the areas of interest and return the paper to school. Parent and teacher coaches will be sending home schedules soon. If you are interested in coaching, contact Mrs. Haffelder at  [email protected] .

October 13, 2016, will mark the 99 th anniversary of the apparitions of Blessed Mother at Fatima. Many things have been written about these modern day, Church approved apparitions. You are invited to join the Public Square Rosary Crusade on October 15, 2016, at St. Michael's garden (in the back parking lot).
An introduction begins at 11:45 a.m. The Rosary begins at 12:00 p.m. Please call Maria Salinas if more information is desired: 979 417 5815 or 979 299 0020. To learn more about the national campaign, see www.ANF.org.
