Falling into Do Good Season
A note from Kelley Tuthill, our newest Board Member

The Ellie Fund is on a roll. The summer began with the 10th and most successful Kelley for Ellie bringing in $170,000. Tom Brady wowed the crowd by tossing footballs to the biggest donors and even sharing hugs. Media outlets locally and internationally covered the superstar's appearance. And more recently, we are thrilled to report a record fundraiser for our 4th Annual Real Golfers Wear Pink Charity Golf Tournament. All golfer spots were filled and we raised more than $80,000. It's the perfect time to join the Board and do my part to ensure we have the resources to continue playing our essential role in the recovery of local breast cancer patients.

As many of you know, I have experienced first-hand the struggle of balancing toxic chemotherapy and radiation treatments with the demands of working and raising a family. I'm blessed to call myself a 10-year survivor and have committed my life to making the road easier for the next patient diagnosed. I'm thrilled the Ellie Fund has asked me to solidify my long-time support of this wonderful organization by joining the Board.

This fall I encourage all of you to participate in the Ellie Fund's annual  Do Good Campaign which brings together local businesses and members of the community to support our mission through the extension of our Healing Together Patient and Family Care Program, which was implemented in January. If you have a business, please consider designating proceeds from a product or service for the Ellie Fund. And of course, we encourage everyone to support businesses who give so generously to the Ellie Fund.

One of my first official acts as a Board Member will be kicking off the Lovin' Linden Beauty Stroll in Linden Square in Wellesley. We are so grateful to our local businesses for supporting the Ellie Fund with a day of shopping and fun. I would love to see you there on Saturday, September 24th from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Thank you for your support and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Your Impact

Close to 200 grants were given out this quarter with over $112,000 provided in services!
Our work would not be possible without your support. Because of you, we can continue to provide invaluable assistance to breast cancer patients like Ralph and his wife Christine, parents of two sets of twins with an annual household income of less than $25,000. Ralph and Christine recently wrote to us sharing:

"We are writing to thank you for all the generous support the Ellie Fund has provided us as we are both being treated for breast cancer. The childcare grant we received allowed us to send our sons to camp this summer, which was a great distraction for them during this difficult time. The grocery store and gas gift cards have also been very helpful to our big family. Thank you so much for all you do."

Your donation today will help families like Ralph and Christine's ease the burdens of breast cancer treatment on their journey towards recovery and healing.

4th Annual Real Golfers Wear Pink, a record success!golf

The Ellie Fund is proud to partner with Dream Dinners in Framingham for our Dish & Deliver program. We began working with Dream Dinners in June to provide nutritious meals for our patients and their families. The meals are prepared by the expert staff at Dream Dinners and delivered to Ellie Fund patients by our amazing volunteer team.

"The dishes last month were absolutely delicious and easy to prepare," said Herin, a current Ellie Fund patient. "Even my husband, who is very picky about food, raved about how good your meals tasted. Thank you so much, we look forward to trying the other meals!"

"Dream Dinners is proud to partner with the Ellie Fund," said co-owner Ann Marie Parness. "We look forward to making cancer patients' lives easier by providing delicious and nutritious meals for them and their families to enjoy together during their difficult journey. At Dream Dinners we believe that dinnertime is family time and should be spent enjoying each other's company and not stressing out about what's for dinner. That's why we are happy to help!"
