LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:
NEW GRADING CODE FEATURE

In alignment with BCPS' new grading practices, teachers may now enter a code of IN in the Learning Management System (LMS) gradebook to indicate Incomplete or Insufficient Evidence. The IN code communicates to students and parents that the assignment needs to be submitted, without impacting students' grades with a zero. The code must be entered in CAPITAL LETTERS. Entering the code in lowercase letters will convert the score to a zero.

If the student does not attempt the assignment or assessment coded as IN, the teacher can leave the IN in the gradebook until the end of the marking period. At that time, the teacher determines if there is enough of a body of evidence in the gradebook to assign a marking period grade. If not, the teacher can issue the code of I on the report card.  See the "Implementation of Codes" section of the Grading and Reporting Manual for additional information about assigning I codes for marking period grades.
LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:
HOW TO ENTER SECOND ATTEMPT SCORES

When students make a second attempt at an assignment and earn a higher score, there are three options for entering that new score in the BCPS One gradebook. To learn more, read the  Entering "Second Attempt" Scores tutorial within the BCPS One Manual.

BCPS ONE SUPPORT MODEL:
3 STEPS YOU NEED TO KNOW
Need support? Seek assistance from your school's SIS Administrator or STAT Teacher.  How can they help?
  • SIS Administrators provide support to school staff for issues related to accessing various BCPS One sub-systems such as the Student Information System (SIS) and Learning Management System (LMS).  Are you unable to login to the SIS or LMS?  Unable to view your classes or missing students from a class list?  Notify your SIS Administrator so they can investigate.
  • STAT Teachers provide support to instructional staff for issues related to the Learning Management System functionality.  Are you unsure of how to assign a lesson tile to students?  Need assistance in creating student groups within a class? Looking for guidance on how to plan for instruction using course maps? Notify your STAT Teacher so they can share "how to" details with you.
