¡ llegó septiembre !
In Chile, September is when we welcome spring and we celebrate "
el 18"--
las Fiestas Patrias. The Independence Day of Chile is commemorated on September 18th and celebrated pretty much all month long with wine, empanadas, and cuecas. La cueca is Chile's folk music and dance.
At Chile Lindo we'll be ready to welcome you to celebrate
Las Fiestas Patrias 1-day early. Join us on Saturday, September 17th, for delicious
empanadas and
dulces chilenos.
In San Francisco, September is the beginning of autumn which means warm weather after a
looooong cold and foggy summer. Even the weather is quirky in our fair City by the Bay.
This month Cine+Más presents its
8th San Francisco Latino Film Festival and this year Chile Lindo is one of the Festival's community partners. I'm delighted to announce that two Chilean films are featured,
Alma, directed by Diego Rougier, and
Perla, directed by Sergio Castilla.
Furthermore, Alma is the festival's opening night feature film showing at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, on
Friday Sept. 16, at 7:30 PM.
