New AdvancingFieldsErtel.com Homepage Features "Progress Meter" To Highlight Construction Status & Continuing Progress
|
We're making significant progress at the
Fields-Ertel/Mason-Montgomery interchange to ease congestion, improve safety and expand access to business and shopping.
To give a visual perspective of our project status, we've updated our homepage at AdvancingFieldsErtel.com to provide a graphic that shows what's been completed and what's next:
Our work began in the Spring of 2012, and since then we've:
- Upgraded twenty-two computer controllers within local traffic signals to allow signal timing to be coordinated more effectively so that traffic can flow more easily
- Added a new lane on northbound Mason- Montgomery Road
- Relocated the pump station that helps provide water service to the area. This relocation was necessary to prepare for the construction of the loop ramp.
- Widened the southbound exit ramp from I-71
- Expanded the northbound exit at I-71
- Extended the gore at the northbound exit at I-71. (The gore refers to the triangle of white lines which separates exiting traffic from traffic that is continuing on I-71.)
We're currently working on the Loop Ramp Project, which should be completed by this time next year.
As always, thank you for your patience, and please remember to reduce your speed in construction zones.

Look For Improved Traffic Patterns On Mason-Montgomery Road
As Early As Next Week
|
As improvements to the Fields-Ertel & Mason-Montgomery interchange continue, drivers will notice a new traffic pattern on Mason-Montgomery Road, just north of Fields-Ertel Road, beginning the week of October 27, weather permitting.
Currently, there are construction barrels and concrete barriers on Mason-Montgomery Road, just north of Fields-Ertel Road, to allow construction to occur in the inner lanes. Those barriers will be moved to the outer edges of Mason-Montgomery Road, thereby opening up additional traffic lanes that were previously closed.
For traffic traveling southbound on Mason-Montgomery Road, the two left turn lanes onto Fields-Ertel Road will be lengthened, and project planners expect this change will result in improving the movement of traffic through the intersection.
We will post additional information on AdvancingFieldsErtel.com as we have more information about these anticipated changes. All work is weather dependent.
