Austin Foodshed Investors:  Investor Network & Impact Accelerator
August 2016

It's raining great news at AFI!

SKINourishment Gets AFI Loan

Wimberly's Skinourishment makes eco-friendly, locally-sourced skin care & repair products from food grade ingredients.  In July they landed a loan from the AFI Investor Network for market expansion.

New AFI Logo & Website!
We're kind of excited about our new website, including a new logo that features the State Vegetable of Texas, the Sweet Onion!  The Invest & Raise Money sections are streamlined, and the food, finance, and social good calendar is much nicer looking (and has some very cool events here in Austin and beyond).  Come on over for a visit!

SMALL BATCH CAPITAL

Our tagline is "small batch capital".  Like artisanal food, we take pride in crafting each deal with care.  That means personal attention to you, the sustainable food entrepreneur:  serious listening to understand your business and your goals; in-depth gap analysis & expert assistance to prepare for successful fundraising; a fundraising strategy that blends capital from various sources to optimize your freedom, optionality, and cost of capital; and introductions to values-based impact investors who want to help you succeed.   Apply online, or email Co-Founder Jarred Maxwell to set up a no-cost, no-oblication introductory phone call.

Back to School...

Today was back to school at our house, and maybe yours as well.  My boy filled up his backpack with empty binders, blank paper, and sharp new pencils, and trudged toward the bus.

One of the things we love about this business is getting to learn new things from new folks.  We love digging into the success-drivers of a food business niche.  We actually enjoy explaining financial statements, and how to use them to drive not just successful fundraising, but success in the business at large.  But mostly we love the cool entrepreneurs that make up Austin's Foodshed!

Thank you, and Cheers!

Curt
