Principal's Message
August 19, 2016
Dear Families and Friends of OLQP:
Welcome back! The faculty and staff of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School are full of joy as we welcome back students and families. The 2016-2017 school year is full of promise - opportunities for learning, for fellowship, and for growing in the Faith. We hope that you were able to enjoy the Back to School Pool Party hosted by Home and School.  The halls were full of smiling faces as students and parents came on campus for "Meet the Teacher." The faculty and staff wanted students to know "how sweet it is" to have them back so students were treated to a "candy bar" created by Affairs to Remember, our lunch provider.
A lot happens behind the scenes to prepare for the first day of school. Teachers and staff worked through the summer attending seminars, webinars, classes, and other training. Faculty teams collaborated to develop a year-long calendar and classroom management plans that are built on school-wide standards. Cluster groups also met to analyze curriculum in terms of vertical alignment, content, resources, and to share instructional strategies.  Mrs. Brewster and the maintenance team worked on facilities projects such as re-striping the parking lot, painting the public areas of the buildings, moving furniture, helping teachers set up classrooms, and more. The technology team worked to update computers, ensure student stations are operational, install document cameras, move hardware and re-install/ calibrate boards, test network capabilities, and more. The Board of Trustees met through the summer as well developing committee charters, action items, surveys, data analysis, and more.
We are all of one mind. We have answered a call to serve Our Lord as we fulfill the mission of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School:
