Time to Recharge!

Time for a step back to recharge our batteries after a hectic summer filled with events such as Canada Day, our Open House, our Fashion Show and more recently, our Day of Pos-Abilities!

The Board will be attending a retreat during which we will be developing our next 3 year strategic plan.  If you have any suggestions on how to improve our service and education program in coming years, please write to us before September 20th.

Day of Pos-Abilities

Our fourth annual Day of Pos-Abilities was the best ever!  The weather cooperated, not too hot or too cold.  We had a very busy children's tent and a number of new exhibitors.  The hallmark of our day was the Try On a Disabilities challenge. Cloverdale-Langley City MP John Aldag opened our day and participated in the challenge against a young player from the Langley Rivermen.  Can you guess who won?  Youth and quick reflexes are hard to beat.

Further activities included the Wheelchair Obstacle Course manned by one of our many volunteers.  Sidewinder Conversions & Mobility provided 2 wheelchair adapted vehicles for display. The entertainment included the Wheeling Eights Square Dancing Group, singer Lance King, Leash of Hope and Pathways Drama Group.  Of course, the BBQ was a big hit!

See the article from the Langley Advance.

We would like to thank our supporters, Otter COOP (BBQ), Aldergrove Credit Union (tent), Remax (tents), the City of Langley for the excellent facilities and the Langley Times for providing all our advertising. Of course, so much of this day relied on the Township of Langley for their financial support.
