Iowa City is a place of milestones for Wu Hao and Wu Ximeng. For the two University of Iowa graduates, the town is where they became enamored of the UI community, pursued their education, found love, and, later, returned to marry. Read more about their story here.

S hanghai IOWA Club 
hosts first event

Earlier this summer, the Shanghai IOWA Club hosted its first event - a Hawkeye mixer for several dozen alumni and UI friends.  The Shanghai club marks the 17th IOWA club established outside the U.S. and the second in China. Read more about the club here.

Fracking and the Iowa Divide
Season eight of WorldCanvass  will begin on Tuesday, September 13, at 7:30 p.m., in the newly-opened Voxman Music Building! Guests will join host Joan Kjaer to discuss the controversial method of energy production known as fracking and its impact on the environment, social dynamics, and the economy. We'll also explore through music, photography, and literature ways in which artists have documented transitions and grappled with the drumbeat of change.
