Happy 100th Birthday, Maxine!
Andrea Maxick, Meals on Wheels, joins Maxine, her daughter, Laverne and Wendy Miller Backman, Senior Wishes,
for a birthday celebration

Maxine's only wish for her birthday was to spend it with her daughter who lives in Detroit.  A Meals on Wheels volunteer assisted Maxine in filling out a Senior Wishes application. Maxine was thrilled when she learned her daughter would be coming home for a long weekend.  She considers her daughter, Laverne, her best friend and their time together was filled with much laughter and love.
Joann Gains Independence

 The gift of three wheels has been life changing for Joann.
We witnessed the sheer joy on her face as she practiced riding her bike
at her apartment complex.
She can now ride down the sidewalk to shop at local stores.

A Beloved Wife is Honored

A Parish Nurse contacted us to nominate a Navy Veteran
who had depleted his entire savings while caring for his
ill wife at home for 18 years,  and now  was unable 
to afford a grave marker.
The family's sadness was uplifted as we installed
a proper engraved stone at her burial site.

Support Senior Wishes by organizing a Dress Down Day at your workplace.  Contact Wendy at 508-2121.  We will provide "I Support Senior Wishes" stickers for participants.  Send us a photo and we will post on our Facebook page.
