Fishing seasons in full swing

Ilwaco's favorable salmon limits continue through the end of August, and albacore tuna fishing should stretch into September. And did we mention that Buoy 10 opened Aug. 1? This means the Port of Ilwaco is hopping and the charters are on the fish! Book a trip now while the fishing is hot.
August action on the LBP

Find late-summer fun throughout Pacific County. Jake the Alligator Man's Birthday is Aug. 5-6, Jazz & Oysters is Aug. 13 and the Kite Festival is Aug. 15-21. Off the Peninsula, you'll enjoy the Willapa Harbor Festival in Raymond on Aug. 5-7 and the 120th Pacific County Fair in Menlo on Aug. 24-27.

Peninsula pairings: Music & food
We like to set our meals to music on the Long Beach Peninsula. Jazz with oysters? You bet. A side of blues with our seafood? Yes, please! Jazz & Oysters is Aug. 13 in Ocean Park, where you can score fabulous Willapa Bay oysters while listening to smooth tunes. Blues & Seafood is Sept. 23-24 at the Port of Ilwaco and attracts regional and national musicians like Jimmy Thackery, as well as some of the best coastal cuisine in the West.
Slow drags and hot rods

Look forward to cool cars and autumn evenings this September as the Slow Drag at the Port of Ilwaco and the Rod Run to the End of the World in Ocean Park roll onto the Long Beach Peninsula. Slow Drag is Sept. 9 and the Rod Run is Sept. 10-11, so start planning now. And don't forget your camera -- these hotrods are rolling eye candy!
