CPD Officers Awarded Letter of Commendation

A “Letter of Commendation” was presented to Officer Easton and Officer Willyerd for their action taken on behalf of the City of Cottleville and the citizens it serves. 


Officer Easton and Officer Willyerd, actions taken on May 29, 2021, without regard to their own safety, they entered, cut away the airbags and seatbelt of a fire engulfed vehicle which allowed for the extrication of an unconscious driver which ultimately saved his life.

 

In recognition for their bravery, dedication and the professionalism exhibited for the City of Cottleville, the City of Cottleville Police Department issued the commendation as a small token of appreciation for their service.

 

Through the authority of the Chief of Police, they were awarded this Commendation on October 20, 2021.

Heroes Way - Remembering LCPL Philip Vinnedge!


After graduating from Francis Howell Central High School, Philip D. Vinnedge joined the United States Marine Corps. On September 27, 2010, Lance Corporal Philip Vinnedge was deployed to Afghanistan and on October 13, 2010, while conducting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, Lance Corporal Vinnedge was killed along with four other members of the Camp Pendleton, California based 3rd battalion, 5th marines. The board of Aldermen honored Lance Corporal Vinnedge for his service by designating an honorary street name in his memory.

Rotary Health Awareness Week

Recently Recognized


WHEREAS, Rotary International identifies maternal and child health and disease treatment and prevention as two of their key Areas of Focus for humanitarian service; and


WHEREAS, Rotary District 6060 has declared October 11 - 15 as Rotary Health Awareness Week throughout eastern Missouri; and


WHEREAS, the Cottleville/Weldon Spring Rotary Club has supported international health and wellness projects in Australia, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Haiti, Hungary, India, Mexico, and Zambia; and supported Rotary's worldwide efforts to eradicate polio; and


WHEREAS, the Cottleville/Weldon Spring Rotary club has completed projects locally impacting the health and wellness of disabled youth and adults, children impacted by violence and abuse, foster children, and babies; and


WHEREAS, the Cottleville/Weldon Spring Rotary Club is donating carbon monoxide detectors to the Cottleville Fire Protection District and providing scholarships for the YMCA during Rotary Health Awareness Week;


NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Bob Ronkoski, Mayor of the City of Cottleville, Missouri, do hereby proclaim the week of October 11 - 15, 2021 as Rotary Health Awareness Week in the City of Cottleville.

St. Peters and Cottleville Residents Can 'Shred It and Forget It' at Recycling Event on November 6th!



St. Peters and Cottleville residents will have an opportunity to safely destroy unneeded documents for FREE by bringing them to the “Shred It and Forget It” recycling event from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021 at Recycle City located at 135 Ecology Drive - St. Peters MO 63376.


Your Cottleville Resident Privilege Card is required for this service.

You may bring up to 5 boxes of documents to be shredded.

Holiday Waste Hauling Service Reminders!





NOTE: Thanksgiving DayThursday - Thursday trash & yard waste collections shift to be collected on Friday. 


DID YOU KNOW?


COOKING GREASE


 -Cooking grease must be in solid form. The solid form needs to be in a sealed container and then placed inside the solid waste can.


COOKING OIL


-Any leftover oils from cooking holiday meals can be recycled at Recycle City. You can either empty the cooking oil into the designated receptacle or leave the container with the oil at the facility (note that container will NOT be returned.


FALL OPTION FOR LEAVES


-During the fall months, you have an extra option to dispose leaves after you fill your brown cart. When your brown cart is full, you can use paper yard waste bags for leaves only. Set the leaf yard waste bags out with your brown cart on your collection day. Leaf bags are accepted for curbside collection in Cottleville during October, November and December. Curbside limit: 20 leaf bags.


FALL DECORATIONS


-Do you like to decorate for autumn with pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks and bales of straw? All of those items can be composted, so be sure to give these items a new life at the end of the season by simply dispose of them in your brown yard waste cart!

No Hunger Holiday 2021

 

Officials with No Hunger Holiday are busy planning for the 2021 event, which marks the 30th Anniversary of the Thanksgiving Day-based drive. Mark your calendar for Tuesday and Wednesday, November 23rd & 24th, 2021. With continued expansion into Lincoln, Warren and Montgomery Counties along with growth in St. Charles County No Hunger Holiday is expected to provide full Thanksgiving Day meals to more than 3,000 families. We are grateful to our agency partners, donors, vendors, volunteers and the army of individuals that help make No Hunger Holiday possible every year. Every year No Holiday overtakes the Pezold Banquet and Meeting Center on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and turns the facility into a distribution center where more than 2,000 boxes are filled with everything that makes up a complete Thanksgiving meal for those in need.

During the week of December 14th, City Officials will once again be cruising Cottleville neighborhoods looking for amazing holiday light displays.  Cottleville residents never disappoint with their amazing light displays, and we are sure that this year will be no different! We look forward to seeing this year's Christmas Spirit throughout Cottleville! 


New this year!

1st and 2nd place for larger properties (1/2 acre or more)

1st and 2nd for smaller properties (less than 1/2 acre)


Plus, a "Most Spirited Neighborhood" will be added. The neighborhood with the most homes lit up will boast a sign at their entrance recognizing their efforts!

Pitman Cemetery Featured! 


In conjunction with Missouri's Bicentennial Celebration, a virtual St. Charles County cemetery tour has been provided by the St. Charles County Bicentennial Committee. Cottleville's Pitman Cemetery is featured. Additionally, the grave sites of Lorenzo Cottle and Warren G. Cottle are featured as well, which are located in the Oak Grove cemetery in St. Charles.
