Dear Friends,

One of the many things that looks different this year is our annual Blazing Gavels Auction. Knowing that we could not get together in person, we wanted to ensure that we could still share great steals and deals with you as we have done for the past 54 years.

Our online auction kicks off today. You can preview and bid on all items by clicking here. Funds from the auction go towards helping your public television station continue serving our community with thought-provoking programs and educational outreach.

Some exciting items you can bid on include: a 1999 911 Porche Carrera (less than 34k miles), a Lonnie Walker IV autographed Spurs Flag, and a Crested Butte Vacation Package. Thank you to all of the donors, sponsors and bidders who are making this year's event possible.

Keep watching,
Arthur

KLRN is local
Hear why environmental and social justice activists want sweeping reforms of CPS Energy, including handing over control to the mayor and City Council. Also, District Attorney Joe Gonzales explains his decision to re-open a case involving a fatal shooting of San Antonio resident Marquise Jones. He was shot by an off-duty police officer in 2014. And we hear from Suzanne Scott of the San Antonio River Authority on her legacy as general manager of the organization. On the Reporters Roundtable, Express-News Business Editor Greg Jefferson talks more about the effort to reform CPS, and columnist Gilbert Garcia fills us in on a local battle over voting.
The Story Goes is a bi-weekly podcast that celebrates our community’s collective successes, highlights our shared challenges, and inspires listeners to take action. In this collaboration between KLRN and SA2020, listeners will get to know the people and organizations creating change in San Antonio.

Listen. Share.

JAMESTOWN'S DARK WINTER
Archaeologists have been excavating in Jamestown for more than 20 years. In April 2012, a team of Historic Jamestowne archeologists discovered something surprising. In the trash layer of a cellar, among the butchered animal bones and household trash discarded by the Jamestown colonists, they found the mutilated skull and severed leg of a 14-year-old English girl dating back to 1609.
