This Sunday at St. Columba's ... we celebrate "Pattie Palooza," honoring director of children's ministry Pattie Ames. We will acknowledge her 22 years of loving, dedicated service to St. C's and send her forth with all our prayers, thanks, and blessings.

Among the abundance of heartfelt farewell messages that have come from the parish community, this one stands out: "Pattie, you have truly lived St. Columba's mission to celebrate children through your abiding wisdom, steadfast presence and thoughtful attention! No one is more warmly greeted by kids of all ages at church, Sunday school or Nursery School. No one works harder or more calmly to get it all done. And no one tells a better story at Mothers' Group dinners. Somehow you manage to do all this while also  commanding respect, fostering learning and spreading warmth among the kids and their parents." Pattie, you are an inspiration to us all.

Join us this Sunday for food and fun in the courtyard (or Great Hall if it rains) immediately following both the 9:15 and 10:30 am services (from 9:45 am-12:30 pm). If you’d like to help with the festivities, please see Jennifer Turner .

Among the gifts we present to Pattie will be a “purse”– a monetary gift – to thank her for her years of service. To contribute to Pattie’s purse, click here and select the fund named “Purse for Pattie.” You may also give by check by notating “Pattie” in the memo line, and either putting it in the Sunday Plate or mailing it to the parish office.
