TRAFFIC ALERT: SEPT. 23, 2021
UPDATE: FLAGGING OPERATIONS RESCHEDULED ON LONGHILL ROAD DUE TO WEATHER
Lane closure under flagger control rescheduled to begin as early as
Sept. 27 for underground pipe placement

Starting as early as Sept. 27, weather permitting, contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) are scheduled to perform daytime flagging operations on Longhill Road between the Olde Towne Square shopping center and Wellspring United Methodist Church to allow for the installation of underground pipe across the roadway.

During this work, Longhill Road traffic will be alternated in each direction under flagger control between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. in this section of the corridor, located between Olde Towne Road/Devon Road and Williamsburg Plantation Drive. A brief period of daytime flagging operations may also take place Sept. 24 to prepare the area for next week's underground pipe placement.

Due to the increase in construction activity and current traffic configuration along Longhill Road and the Olde Towne Road/Devon Road intersection, motorists should anticipate potential delays, utilize alternate routes, and plan their commutes by using VDOT’s free traffic information tools:

This work is dependent upon weather conditions; therefore, the schedule and duration of the work are subject to change.
