CAASPP Schedule
All students in grades 3-8 will participate in state mandated CAASPP testing. For more information about CAASPP, please visit the  Walnut Creek School District Assessment Page here.

We want you to have the state testing dates on your calendars.  Please note that testing will be held in the classrooms on Chromebooks, to replicate the most natural learning environment. Please note all testing will take place in the morning.

3rd grade:  Week of April 29 - May 3
4th grade:  Week of May 6 - 10
5th grade: Week of May 6 - 10
5th grade science state test:  Monday May 13
Miss Logan's Class:  May 13 - 17
Miss Logan's class science test:  May 20

We respectfully request that your child be in school, rested, and on time and that you save appointments for non-testing dates.  We do know emergencies occur and things come up so, please let the office and your child's teacher know of any potential absences as soon as possible.  We can test a child in advance or do make-ups for illnesses if necessary.

Thank you so much.

News From the Office

From the Office

With the weather quickly warming up here are some reminders:
  • Dress in layers so as the day gets warmer clothing can be removed to keep the student comfortable.
  • Send students to school with water bottles (no glass!) and remind them to drink.  Keeping hydrated is super important especially when students are playing or exercising in warm weather.
  • Head and eye protection may be worn but must be removed in the classroom.
  • Apply sunscreen.  The sun is intense on the blacktop especially at lunch time.
  • Avoid sandals and other open toe footwear for safety reasons.  No flip flops are allowed.
Stay cool everyone and enjoy the warmer weather!

Thank you,
Nancy Kaye
Murwood Office Manager

Walnut Creek Education Foundation (WCEF)

Events Volunteer Needed
Volunteering with WCEF is a great way to learn what's happening at your child's school, how funding in the district gets allocated, and you can meet families from across the district. If you have a little time to spare, we are looking for an events volunteer to help at Spring Sings, Science Fairs, etc.
