compassion, and equality for all.
Mission:
We empower people to live thriving spiritual lives.
From the Minister

Dear Unity Family,

This week, Ruby Bridges, the first black child to integrate an all white school in New Orleans back in 1960, celebrates a birthday. She was only six-years-old at the time, but taking that first step into William Frantz Elementary School made a huge impact on American society and paved the way for future generations.

Even though it required federal marshals escorting her past angry protests, Ruby learned to read and write that year and came to think of her teacher as her best friend.
Ruby Bridges’ historic walk took place six years after Brown vs. Board of Education ruling in 1954 that established separate public schools for black and white students were unconstitutional.

Norman Rockwell took an interest in the event and it inspired him to create the iconic painting titled “The Problem We All Live With.”
Today, Ms. Bridges is an American civil rights activist who founded The Ruby Bridges Foundation in 1999 to promote the values of tolerance, respect and appreciation of all differences. She says, “Don’t follow the path. Go where there is no path and begin the trail. When you start a new trail equipped with courage, the only thing that can stop you is you!”

Happy Birthday, Ruby Bridges!

In a time when we can all use a cup of courage and inspiration to navigate new territory, Ruby Bridges’ voice is as significant today as it was in 1960.
There is much for which to be hopeful. We are the ones.

In Love and Unity,
Rev. Anne Tabor

There is an African proverb that tells us to “Pray, then move your feet.” Tracy Brown will challenge us to identify what our soul is calling us to do. How do we extend our prayers into the action we take in the world?

About Tracy:

She is a nationally recognized speaker, teacher and author who is known for her ability to guide people through sensitive conversations about the spiritual foundation for values-driven action. Unity of Arlington recently applied for and received a PPP loan from the government stimulus program in the amount of $19,900. At this time it is still considered a loan from the government. If we are able to get loan forgiveness, which we are fully expecting to accomplish, then it will no longer be considered a loan but a gift that does not need to be repaid. We will keep you posted as to the current status of these funds.

Anne, offers spiritual counseling to individuals seeking a deeper under-standing of themselves and their divine power within to solve life's challenges. Spiritual counseling can help if there is a need for inspiration, crisis support, or healing in any area of your life. Prayer and meditation are an integral part of Unity's spiritual principles, and an essential practice in realizing the answers we seek. UNITY'S FIVE BASIC PRINCIPLES

Principle #1:
There is only one Presence and one Power in the Universe and in my life, God the Good.

Principle #2:
Human beings have a spark of divinity within them, the Christ spirit within.
Their essence is of God, and therefore they are also inherently good.

Principle #3:
Human beings create their experiences by the activity of their thinking.
Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.

Principle #4:
Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity, and everything good.

Principle #5:
Knowing and understanding the laws of life, also called Truth, are not enough.
A person must live the truth he or she knows.
CORE VALUES
Spirit-Led:
Centered in the awareness of God's presence, we turn within for divine guidance in
all we do.

Love:
Love is our True Nature. We express the harmonizing power of love to see good everywhere and in everybody. Love binds together the whole human family.

Diversity:
We believe that all people are created with sacred worth. In a spirit of Unity, we embrace each person as an expression of God grounded in truth and love.

Connection:
We live, love, and laugh from our Oneness with God. We honor our inter-connectedness with each other, with all life, and the earth.

Abundance:
God is our Infinite Source of Good. We gratefully demonstrate prosperity in all areas
of our lives. We wisely use our wealth of resources to serve our spiritual community and the world.

Service:
We cultivate enlightened leadership by practicing the teachings of Jesus the Christ through sacred service. It is a blessing to serve locally and globally.

Integrity:
We consciously choose to practice living our Core Values and Unity Principles rather than simply professing them. We choose to communicate from the heart with authenticity and deliver on our commitments with reliability.
