Today, April 23rd, is a very special day in the life of Marion. It was on this day that Russian troops caught up with her death train and liberated the survivors.
The train had been meandering eastward through Germany for 14 days, without food, water, toilets or medical supplies.
Of the 2,500 men, women & children that began this journey, 5oo died enroute or shortly after liberation. Many were buried along the tracks. Her beloved dad died 6 weeks after liberation!
Best wishes,
Nathaniel
