County Executive Calvin Ball recently announced the start of an update to the General Plan. The update will help guide future land use and development decisions and changes to the County's land development regulations.
The General Plan is the comprehensive long-range plan for all of Howard County that guides decisions related to development, land preservation, changing demographic and employment trends, neighborhood sustainability, capital projects, county services and other key issues. The most current, PlanHoward 2030, was adopted in 2013 and established policies over a two-decade period. This new General Plan will update PlanHoward 2030.

Howard Chamber partners with I95 Business
Howard County Chamber partners with I95 BUSINESS. The annual agreement includes a company profile written by I95 BUSINESS "to tell your story" - the company focus, the services, the culture and job opportunities, the company's differentiator. Monthly member posts will be published on www.I95business.com, live on the Howard County Chamber contributor page.
The Howard County Chamber is planning to embark upon an Intercity Leadership Visit in 2019.
In spearheading an intercity visit, the Howard County Chamber will take approximately 20-30 business and civic leaders alongside County Executive Calvin Ball and elected and appointed officials to Somerset County, New Jersey.
The dates will be September 15-17.
You will learn and study best practices in economic and community development, flood mitigation, and environmental stewardship.

Clark Construction: Strategic Partnership Program
Clark Construction's Strategic Partnership Program is a 10-month program that is offered at no cost to small and disadvantaged businesses. Classes begin in September, are typically held Wednesday evenings, and are taught by a team of seasoned Clark professionals and outside guest lecturers. From bidding and bonding to estimating, scheduling, and project management, the program delivers the technical training and professional development that small businesses need to realize their business objectives and confidently compete for new opportunities.
