Jumping for joy outside Flinn

Baking, crafting, step team, competitive programming, and more - students have a plethora of clubs to join during the school year, many of which have already begun meeting via Zoom. "About half of our 80 clubs have offered virtual introduction meetings and a few events. These well-attended gatherings have provided a great opportunity for our clubs and affinity groups to share more about their purpose and ways that new students could get involved," said Nora Yasumura, prep class dean and director of student clubs and affinity groups.

"Clubs like Speech and Debate and Quizbowl are already preparing for their first virtual competitions of the new year. Discussion-based clubs like BaHSA (Black and Hispanic Student Alliance) and Triple A (Asian American Advocacy) are holding events open to the entire campus on Friday evening," she added.

Hotchkiss had an unauthorized visitor Wednesday evening in the form of a furry black-and-white striped animal. Campus Security issued a  "skunk alert" after the intruder was seen wandering in and out of Coy dorm. The proctors in Coy armed themselves with lacrosse sticks for a mock offense. Thankfully, the skunk got skunked and fled without emitting its fragrant aroma. It hasn't returned -- yet.

Whether the skunk is Olympian or Pythian remains undetermined, but the competition between the two teams is going strong: the standings have changed once more! After a weekend of games of Kahoot, Pictionary, Charades, Krunker, and Mafia, the Pythians are in the lead with 15,685 points while the Olympians hold a total of 13,285.
