Antonian College Preparatory High School

This message is lengthy but contains important information.
Please read thoroughly.

Dear Parents and Graduates of the Class of 2020,

It's time for another update!

Senior Sunset Video
Students who participated in Senior Sunset last night were shown a video that was produced by Mrs. Anna Marie Ramirez, a parent of MANY Antonian students (six alumni and one current student) and widow of former Antonian Media instructor, Jesus Ramirez. For many years, the Ramirez family has produced videos for the school. They then make this available for purchase as a memento. A shorter video of similar content will be posted on the Antonian website. If you would be interested in purchasing options for the Senior Sunset video, please click on the following link to be taken to a flyer on the Antonian website: Senior Sunset Video Order Information

Collections Day/Regalia Distribution - Friday, May 29th
Update: We continue to make plans to host a time on Friday, May 29th for seniors to return any items owed to the school (Chromebooks, library books, educational resources provided by teachers, extracurricular uniforms, etc.) and to pick-up their regalia packets. There are also about 6-7 students who have not picked up their cap and gown packages and can do so on this day.

To maintain appropriate social distancing, this occasion will be structured with appointment times via a sign-up link much like we conducted the distribution date in March.  I regret to say that we are still working out the time for this, but we do know that it will take place in the afternoon. More than likely we will have a window of about three hours. We will update you and send a sign-up link to your students as soon as possible.

On this day, we had also planned for Antonian alumni to be on campus to offer their congratulations to the seniors with a special treat; however, after additional conversations with the alumni, it has been decided to tie this into the night of graduation.

Baccalaureate Mass - Friday, June 5th 7:00 p.m.
Update: We are once again happy to announce some new good news--we will be able to host a live Baccalaureate Mass for our seniors. Unfortunately, to abide by attendance restrictions, this celebration will only include the seniors and faculty/staff . We continue to work on details for this, especially our livestream efforts, so that parents and other family members can watch the event virtually. Immediately following the Mass, we will have a presentation of annual honors. This will be included in the livestream feed. We will also provide information about how graduation will run in lieu of a formal rehearsal. We will provide more details about arrival time for the Baccalaureate Mass and where and how to gather for this event in next week's update, but for now, seniors should expect to arrive by 6:00 p.m. for the event which will take place on June 5, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. and should also expect to abide by Antonian dress and grooming standards for the Mass.

Commencement (Graduation) Ceremony - Saturday, June 6th at 8:30 p.m. at Ferrara Field on Antonian's Campus
Update: The update regarding the graduation ceremony is that we now know that we will permit each senior to have four (4) guests attend the event. This will be ticketed -- details still being worked. Seating with appropriate social distancing will be permitted in the grandstand, in the visitors stands, and limitedly, in chairs on the field flanking the graduates.  Families should know that not all seating will have the best vantage point, particularly those in the visitor stands. Ideally, parents will be afforded the limited seating on the field and in the grandstand, while other guests would occupy seating in the visitor stands. We will have faculty/staff on hand to serve as ushers and to ensure social distancing. Again, we continue to work on live streaming details, so other family members can watch.

Herff Jones Invitations
Our representative with Herff Jones shared that, in an unanticipated move, the production factory jumped the gun and reprinted invitations to correct a typographical error on its part without waiting for the new date, time, and location of the event. As a result, all reprints that have now been provided to Antonian have the original date. However, to make this work for all their customers, Herff Jones is providing several solutions and options for errata cards to accompany your announcements when you mail them. Please visit https://www.herffjones.com/insertcards/

As Antonian staff now have reprints on hand, we can make them available to families upon request to be distributed to seniors at the collection day on May 29th. To facilitate requests, please have your senior log into his/her Antonian Google account and use the Google Form at this link to let us know how many reprints will be needed: https://forms.gle/Rf545BP7JV5FrbhU9 .

Panoramic Photo
Update: We now have more information on a senior panoramic photo! Ross Benton of Benton Studios, the photographer who shoots our first day of school photos and sports team photos, will capture images of students on the night of graduation, and through the magic of digital photography, will merge these images into a single photo. If you have seen the team photos he takes for us, you know this will be an amazing product. We will have more information about purchases in future updates.

Last Day for Coursework
All of these final celebrations are joyous occasions that we want to be able to share with all of our seniors. However, parents please be aware that students must pass this last semester of classes to receive their diplomas. Encourage your students this next week, that if they have any outstanding assignments due to teachers, the last day to remit any coursework for consideration is Friday, May 29th at 4:00 p.m. We really don't want to withhold any diplomas on the night of graduation if at all possible.

Please continue to watch for senior news and events updates periodically through June 6, 2020.
