We are gearing up for the annual Red, White & Buda celebration on July 4, 2019. Joins us for the parade, fireworks, and fun!

Movies in the Park
" You're killin' me smalls!" Movies in the Park is back and "The Sandlot" is showing this Friday, June 14 at Buda Sportsplex. Movies start at 8:45 PM! Movies in the Park is FREE! Hope to see you there!

MedReturn Drop Box
Are you trying to empty out your medicine cabinet but don’t know where to take unwanted or unused medications? The Buda Police Department has a solution. You can now dispose of excess and expired prescriptions, including over-the-counter medications, at a drop box located in the lobby of the Buda Police Department (405 E. Loop St., Bldg. 200).

Green Meadows Splash Pad Closed Monday, June 17
Due to Routine Maintenance
The Green Meadows Splash Pad will be closed on Monday, June 17 for routine maintenance. It is expected to reopen sometime in the afternoon. We wanted to give you a heads up in case you were planning on using the splash pad Monday.
Additional Roadway Closure Due to Old Goforth Construction
Due to Old Goforth Road construction, the intersection of Green Meadows Lane and Old Goforth will be closed starting June 13 to permit the reconstruction of the intersection. The intersection at Tom Green School Road/Calomel Trail and Old Goforth will also be closed at this time.

We will keep this page updated and continue to post updates on our social media channels. Construction updates are also running on the monitors in the lobby of the Municipal Building.

Finance Director
Graduates From Certified Public Manager Program
June Ellis, the City of Buda’s Finance Director, earned the national designation of Certified Public Manager (CPM) after graduating from Texas State University’s William P. Hobby Center for Public Service on Monday, June 10 at the program’s graduation ceremony. 


City of Buda Communications Director
Earns State Award
The City of Buda earned an Award of Honor under the "Special or One-Time Program" category at the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officer's award ceremony last week! The City won for the Municipal Facilities documentary video. We have included the video link.

The Harper Family Reunion
Every year, a huge family reunion happens in Buda. The Harper, Hobby, Fields, Taylor, Kavanaugh, and Bunton families have significant history in Buda.     


Friends of the Buda Library
Short Story Contest
For Adults
The  Friends of the Buda Library  is proud to present its Eighth Annual Short Story Writing Contest for Adults. This contest is open to non-professional writers aged 17 and up. This contest is a Friends of the Buda Library Fundraiser. Short story entries must be 4,000 words or less, in English, double spaced in 12-point font and submitted with entry fee to the Buda Public Library. Deadline is June 28 at 5 p.m.

Summer Contest
For Young Writers
It’s once again time for the  Friends of the Buda Library  Summer Contest for Young Writers. The contest is open to all writers between the ages of 8 to 17. Deadline is July 2, 2019.

South Main Music Nights
Downtown Buda  is once again hosting "South Main Music Nights" this summer! The free concert series takes place at  Buda Mill & Grain Co.  on June 6, June 20, July 18, and August 1. It runs from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. So grab your lawn chairs and picnic blankets and bring the family out!

Looking for a place to visit over the weekend? You can "Breathe Easy" in Buda! We always welcome visitors. If you have questions about our wonderful town, the City's Tourism Department is a great place to start.
