THE EVERY CONGREGATION CHALLENGE
At Synod Assembly, the  Strategic Plan Anti-Racism Committee  kicked off a new anti-racism initiative for 2019:  The Every Congregation Challenge . We are challenging every congregation in the Synod to engage in at least one intentional time of learning and conversation about racism during this year.  
WORLD REFUGEE DAY | JUNE 20
World Refugee Day is Thursday, June 20 and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS) has developed new resources for congregations to observe Migrant and Refugee Sunday, which can be used on any Sunday. 
Resources include a message from ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton and Krish O’Mara Vignarajah, President & CEO of LIRS.

Once again, there will be a Lutheran presence in the  PRIDE March on Sunday, June 30 . Come join Bishop McCoid and Bishop-Elect Egensteiner as we give public witness to the radical welcome of God, to the grace that is ours through Jesus Christ, and to the continual guidance of the Holy Spirit.

At 12 pm, we will gather for a short Eucharist in the park, located on 2nd Ave and 29th Street, just a short walk from our formation place. You can also join us directly at our line-up place, located on 30th Street between Madison Ave and Park Ave, at 1 pm.

PRIDE WEEK
St. John's Lutheran Church, Manhattan
Sunday, June 23 | 5:00 pm

As part of the PRIDE celebration, MNYS will be hosting a  Mass for PRIDE to start Pride Week. The Rev. Kevin Strickland, Assistant to the Presiding Bishop, will preach, and The Rev. Amanda Nelson, Executive Director of Extraordinary Lutheran Ministries, will preside. A reception following the mass will provide a time for fellowship.

In addition, Theatre at St. John’s invites you to make a night of it and continue this welcoming celebration in the West Village. At 8 pm, settle in as the curtain rises on GALAS, this year’s Pride month offering. Click  here for more information.

THE NAMING PROJECT SUMMER CAMP
Bay Lake Camp, Minnesota 
July 28 - August 2 

Organized by the Naming Project, this is a faith-filled camp for LGBTQIA+  teens who want to explore faith, identity, and community. The camp will welcome teenagers 14-18 years old, of any sexual orientation or gender identity, interested in understanding their own spiritual journey, while canoeing, swimming, hiking, singing, and doing arts and crafts.
