Over the last several weeks, during a time when many of us are feeling isolated and uncertain, Closer to Home has been adapting to stay connected to families experiencing trauma. Our Ee-Des-Spoom-Ooh-Soop staff have turned their weekly drumming and healing circles into virtual sessions, allowing Indigenous parents and families to stay connected and continue their healing journey from home.
One of those individuals is Lily*, a mother of two who says the program has “[taken] away a lot of the shame, and the feeling of being isolated in my own struggles.”
