Noteworthy News from the Calgary Jewish Federation Family

A sincere thank you to the many volunteers who gave of their time at our Casino on June 12 and 13. Revenue received through the Casino helps to fund key Federation programs and services . We cannot express our gratitude enough for all that you do for our community.
F rom May 31 to June 2, Hillel Calgary and Edmonton students came together for an incredible weekend of Israel advocacy training, leadership development, and the great outdoors for the annual 
Jews, Schmooze, and Canoes  program. Highlights of the weekend included canoeing on the lake, team building activities, and deep dives into effective campus advocacy and engagement strategies. Thank you to Camp BB Riback for hosting, and to CIJA for sponsoring the event.
On June 13 Calgary JCC hosted its 30th Annual Sports Dinner. The evening featured world renowned hockey player, Jarome Iginla, who inspired guests with stories of his early life, career, and deep connections to Calgary. Our community’s own Megan Raber also spoke, recounting her experiences growing up in Calgary's Jewish community and being a part of the Calgary JCC. Yasher Koach to the JCC, and all those who made this event a success.
Mazel Tov to the grade nine students of Calgary Jewish Academy who celebrated their graduation on June 6. The evening featured presentations from staff, valedictorian speeches in French, Hebrew and English and a Keynote address from CJA Alumni and
President of Stampede Entertainment Inc., Adam Oppenheim. We are incredibly
proud of the CJA graduates and their achievements. We wish them all the best as
they venture into high school.
