International Family Equality Day is coming up on May 5. We are honored to be partnering with Meghan Lewis at the
LGBTQ Perinatal Wellness Center to host a Queer Family Portrait exhibit in our space. It's an opportunity to celebrate the diversity of all families, promote equality for everyone, and be surrounded by depictions of all types of families.
Please join us for an
opening reception for the show on Friday, May 3 from 5-8pm, or come into the store in early May to enjoy the portraits.

It is often said that babies don't come with manuals. In truth, we parents are confronted with an absolute abundance of manuals. There are countless books, blogs, and experts seeking to impact and influence the most sacred of relationships [between parent and child]. We are inundated with information and thus the first year of parenthood may become particularly overwhelming. With these realities in mind, this course seeks to offer community as well as knowledge; it will be a safe and inviting space for both baby and parent to land.
Specific topics of focus may include:
- recognizing & respecting the personhood [of our infants]
- establishing a loving and respectful relationship from the start
- creating the conditions for authenticity to flourish
- observing the beauty of natural motor development
- enabling language acquisition through meaningful contexts
- understanding what "self-care" may really mean
- knowing and establishing our boundaries (as parents)
- adopting parenting practices during infancy that may make toddlerhood less "terrible"
This series is a parent support group + class hybrid
designed for infants up to 8 months
