GVFL K-1 Flag Football

No practice this Friday night
That time of year and we have run short on light in the evenings so there are no more Friday night practices this season.

And our K-1st Flag Superbowl is only 2 weeks away!
There is only one additional regular season game this Saturday (10/30) and the culmination of the flag season will be November 6th. All teams should plan to be at the complex at 8:30am. We will be playing a round robin format, with a final Tug o War, followed but a brief season ending ceremony to salute the cheerleaders and our GVFL Boys of Fall.

GVFL Tackle Football Homecoming
So much fun had by all at our homecoming games this weekend! Big congratulations to both teams for their huge victorys !! Special thank you to all of the parents and fans for coming to support our teams!!

GVCO Community Partnership
Philadelphia is the nation's poorest big city with nearly 300,000 children living in poverty across the region. Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia has a reach that goes well beyond the borders of the city itself.

Chester County, including the Malvern area, is included in the region in which Cradles to Crayons is having an impact. GVCO is once again partnering with Cradles to Crayons, hosting our 3rd Annual Donation Drive. Reaching out to our Great Valley community in an effort to help those right here in our area.

Part of Cradles to Crayons' mission: "Our whole focus is to make our collaborative process as easy and streamlined as possible. This helps us to empower the children we serve collaboratively — at home, at school, and at play — by providing the everyday essentials that match their individual needs." GVCO's reach here in the community, coupled with Cradles to Crayons' ability to reach those in need is the perfect partnership for our GVCO Caring Hands foundation.

Childhood poverty is a serious nationwide issue and the local area is not immune. Without adequate and appropriate clothing, children face unfair barriers and participate in life on an unequal playing field. Cradles to Crayons uses the term “Clothing Insecurity” as part of our efforts to formally recognize the issue, and increase awareness on this hidden basic need.

GVCO is proud to be partnering with such a worthy organization in helpng Cradles to Crayons reach its inspiring mission and goals.

GVCO Project Update
THE STONE BASE COURSE FOR THE DRIVEWAY & UPPER PARKING LOT HAS BEEN INSTALLED

For 3 straight days, Charlestown Paving worked to get the drive/upper parking lot installed. What seemed like 100 truckloads of material were delivered, leveled and than rolled. The picture above is taken from the back of the site from behind the practice field. The pad for the building is on the left. The driveway down to Bacton Hill Rd can be seen at the far end.

GVCO Donor Spotlight
Tom Farrelly

Daughter:"Hey Dad",
Me, "Greatest thing I'll ever be"

What GVCO provided for me and the girls CAN NOT be overstated. Picking them up after school, getting to practice/games, out to eat, hanging with other parents, etc. We got to interact/experience a bit of actual day/day life on life's terms. Nothing takes the place of being there and for sure some things would have been different. So many experiences, "Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want". I got to play Dad and coach...and the girls had a role model.

Know that GVCO has made a difference in the lives of my daughters and myself. That is very noble.

-Tom Farrelly, GVBL Ref & GV Dad whose daughters are GVSD graduates and GVBL participants.
